Of the
Guild of the College of Biblical Studies

Organized May 1, 2006

Article I
Name and Authority

The name of this organization shall be The Guild of the College of Biblical Studies (CBS). It is organized by authority of the President of CBS and is subject to CBS control as to policies and destination of funds.

Article II
Purpose

The purpose of this organization is to assist the College of Biblical Studies in promotion of the general welfare of the College. It will accept within its ability and willingness projects that may be suggested by the President of the College. The Guild may originate projects subject to the approval of the President of the College.

Article III
Membership

The Guild shall be composed of interested, dedicated, Christian women of various denominations, who are committed to the challenge of building this multi-ethnic Christian institution of higher learning, who have read and subscribed to the mission statement of the College of Biblical Studies.

All those committing to participate in the purposes and work of The Guild become full members. A notice shall be sent annually to The Guild membership regarding the different types of activities available for committee assignments.

Section 1: Guild Membership gifts are $100/year for renewing members and $50/year for new members and students. The member will participate in the functions of The Guild to the best of her ability. The dues will be designated to The Guild of CBS.

Article IV
Officers

Section 1: The officers of The Guild shall be President, First Vice President-Special Projects/President Elect, Second Vice President-Membership, Third Vice President-Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, Chaplain, Prayer Ministry Coordinator and Immediate Past President.

Section 2. All officers shall be elected for a term of one year and may only be re-elected for the same office for one subsequent consecutive year. Any revision to the stated and customary term of office will require a waiver from the Officers and shall be limited to one consecutive term not to exceed two years.

Section 3. The President shall fill all vacancies occurring between annual meetings.

Section 4. An approved slate of Officers shall be elected in April and officially assume their duties after the installation in May.

Section 5. Each officer is required to sign an acknowledgment that they have read and understand the doctrinal statement of the CBS.

Section 6: The Board shall consist of the Officers, the immediate Past President, the Chairmen of the Standing Committees and CBS Liaison.

Article V
Committees and Appointments

Section 1: The President shall appoint the Chairman for each of the following Standing Committees:
1. Fall Coffee
2. Christmas Tea
3. Mary Martha Luncheon

Section 2: The President shall appoint additional committees as needed.

Article VI
Meetings

Section 1. The fiscal year of The Guild shall be from July 1 to June 30.

Section 2. There shall be at least one general membership meeting per year. Planned social activities may constitute regular meetings if necessary.

Article VII
Amendments to the Constitution

This Constitution may be amended at any regular or called meeting by a simple majority of The Guild Board; as needed voting may be done via email.
